In other news, I am getting fatter. Which some people would say a good thing, but I have body image issues as well, so goddamnit.

The End of The Beginning

Not that, that really means anything. A quote from Winston Churchill. Happy New Year, I guess. It is 2013. My brothers have gone off to school. And I am at home, lounging about doing nothing really. There is a reason, and a dilemma behind that, but maybe, at a later date, I will get back to that. I might do a bullet points post on reflections and the like. But I don't really promise anything.

I wanted to watch Arashi on Kouhaku this year. What with being home and all, it seemed like the perfect condition. But my parents won't let me get the channels on our cable. So I watched Arafes. Which, really? Maybe was even better than Kouhaku by thousands.

So, anyway. In the event of this New Year and everything, I thought I'd write an informational post. Well, slightly more informational than the usual fare anyway. I thought I'd write some thoughts/reviews on books that I have read during 2012. At least, the ones I remember reading. And so, without further ado:

All results for the most recent exams are out.

I'm glad to say I didn't fail anything. Marks leave something to be desired but I am happy with what I got.
Anything else? Going home on the 15th though, I can go home tomorrow if I wanted to. And if I had the money to change my tickets. That's not entirely possible now.

How people change is awesome you know. It's sort of disconcerting.

Either way, I'm feeling weird. You can tell.

I went to TA today, for stress relief and also to buy some ingredients for hamburgers. I'm gonna try and make Japanese hamburgers or hanbaagu.

Keep in mind that my cooking history only consists of some fried rice that I forgot to season, sambal ikan bilis which was OK, instant foods which all you need to do is fry em, and cakes. But cakes don't really count because that's baking.

I don't know when I'm gonna attempt this. Sometime soon of course. But we have full classes tomorrow *moangroanrollover*

So, in regards to the title, it means; I don't need it. I definitely don't need it. Or something like that.

Like I said, I went to TA. Before I went grocery shopping, I went window shopping I did say it was stress relieving trip.

So I went into this store, which I love. It sells the type of clothes I love but I've never bought anything because it's too expensive. Anyway, I was looking through the belts selection because incidentally, I do need a new belt and one really cute yellow belt caught my eye.

Ignore that it was yellow, that's another conversation all together, just keep in mind that it was cute. So I looked at the tag, thinking that surely a belt wouldn't be that expensive. Boy was I wrong

That belt, that cute, yellow belt, costRM80+.

Who needs a RM80+ belt?

My god. Though in terms of supply and demand, if there isn't a demand then there wouldn't be a supply right? So, people are actually buying this RM80+ belt.

I'm having trouble wrapping this around my head. But then again, I prefer buying CDs to downloading so who am I to say anything? Alright, shutting up about this now.

Anyway, I also went to that CD store I love so much and I found OTSUKA AI'S CONCERT DVD "Ai Am Best". OMG.!!!

I am squealing. But it's so expensive!!!! It costs Rp300k +. (and just now I was stressing over a RM80+ belt the irony is not lost on me thank you very much). But I want it!!! I really do. Argh. Thank god it wasn't Chatmonchy though. Chatmonchy I'd have bought then and there. I managed to put it down. Even though it hurts my heart to do so. No need to mention a certain five member idol group of course. They are in a league of their own.

Oh, and there was also KATTUN's Break The Record DVD. Again, KATTUN... not so much. ;)

One more thing that I don't get today, why the hell were there Japanese titled albums in the store? I mean, where do they get their stocks. Like suddenly there were titles in Katakana for Dream Theater's album. Or Celine Dion in Japan (written in Japanese). Where do they get their supplies?

Ah well.

All in all, a tiring day. My left calf kept cramping because it's been ages I've exercised this much. Hahaha... must rectify that.

Life

Life is as usual. Nothing more nothing less

I finally got a day out after two weeks of holing up at home, studying. or pretending to.

Went to the Px pavilion today with Aqilah. I've been meaning to for ages. There is a TIMES bookstore there. And if you know me, this is BIG. the is so big, it is ridiculous.

Anyway, I am happy with the English book selection over there. I had targeted around 5 books, but yeah, money. I have none. So bought only 2 books in the end. "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" which I have been meaning to get for ages and "Perdido Street Station". I have no idea about the last book, it just seemed interesting.

I actually have already read THGttG before, while I was in matriculation. It was a very old library book and it had all volumes combined which made it awesome. I loved reading that book. :)

Anyway, after that we got caught in the rain for a bit before we finally found an Angkut and headed to PURI mall to do some lunch. It was Secret Recipe and it was awesome. I now have two cheesecakes waiting for me in the fridge. Because I already ate the third one. Haha.

And I bought a dress. A really cute knee length floral printed blue dress. You have not misread, I did, actually buy a dress. And I am gonna wear it. Soon. Maybe. When I'm brave enough.

Aqi mentioned this to while we were clothes browsing. She realized that now, when she goes shopping or walking around she tends to look to blouses and stuff. Ladies things. Sophisticated things. Button down shirt things. She said she thinks that it's a part of growing up. Our tastes are changing, we're dressing smarter. We're trying to make an impression.

I agree with her, yeah. I dress different sometimes. In little pieces, I think I'll change. I'll grow up. It's inevitable.

But right now? Right now, I swear to myself, if I ever go shopping some more, that I'll never forget to look at the t-shirts. The ones with the funky designs, and catchy phrases. The ones with cute pictures and random prints.

Because I'm not ready to grow up yet.

Dragons

are awesome.

they can fly, breathe fire and noxious gasses, have really hard scaly skin, have really sharp teeth and claws and all those awesome little bits and pieces that make up a dragon.

I want one.

in case you were wondering why, I just came back from watching "How to Train Your Dragon".

Not in 3D because I don't like having to wear those glasses on top of my glasses.

Less than 24 hours...

and I'll be on a plane, heading back to Jakarta. The home away from home. Or the rumah kost away from rumah.

You can probably actually feel the depression coming at you in waves from this post....

It's not that I don't love what I'm doing, of course I do. It was something I had always wanted when I was young till form 3 and had stayed in the back of my mind while I was thinking of other more possible career paths ( I mean come on, I constantly failed add maths. I had no illusions I could get into med school with that). It's just depressing to be so far from everyone.

First block will be something to do with the senses? Biggest subjects would be ophthalmology and ENT stuff. I have no idea. Otitis media acuta. Hahahahaha. LOL

Had my results a few days ago. I passed everything, thank god. And my pointer wasn't really all that bad considering I had failed two subjects last semester. (remember, that angsty post)

I've nearly finished packing. I need to pack this laptop but, yeah, not yet of course.

I'm also fairly worried about my flight tomorrow (or today, as the case maybe). I've been delayed hours twice and only received the notification less than 24 hours before I was due to take off. But I just came off Airasia and apparently there hasn't been any changes. Lets hope it stays that way.

Oh well, back to Jakarta we go. Hello 6th semester. Hello endless days of neuroticism . Hello, hello, hello....

A fun weekend

i went to KL for the weekend and stayed a night at my sister's place.

It was very fun and i don't think that I have ever walked that much in a day. My legs, they cry with despair.

We went to KLCC where the main point was Kinokuniya and then to Time's Square where my sis did some shopping.

Kinokuniya was awesome. Mostly because I managed to buy the photobook that I wanted :D
I have loved the Pikanchi photobook since I sawthe scans and would have liked a copy for myself. I'm glad to say now, I do. :D

It's also good reading practice. Even though I can't read most kanji but at least I'm able to recognize and read the Hiragana and Katakana. Baby steps people! baby steps!!!!!

After KLCC we went to TS and shopped clothes. Well, yin did. I mostly browsed. But the dress she bought was lovely ;D

Anyway, thanks yin, for keeping me company. I know. I need the exercise. But honestly? My legs... they disagree with you.

OH! And an update about the 5x10 tour DVD: PAID AND ORDERED!!!!


Oh joy! now to wait for April. .

My wallet, it is dead

Because Arashi's 5x10 concert DVD is finally up for pre-order. The release date is set for April 7th. I am in the process of contacting a person and arranging a transaction. May all goes well.

I have waited for this CD since August last year. I shall have it!!!!!!! Wargh!!!!!

So, in other non-arashi related news, I am currently home for semester holidays! Have been for like, 1 week plus?

I have been doing nothing but expanding. Myself.

I really should go out and do something. *sigh*

Oh and I got a haircut. It's short. And short. And...short?
I wished she hadn't cut my bangs so short. I like my bangs longer. But I shall live. Hair grows.

This keyboard is seriously testing the limits of my patience. And strength. It's so..... hard? That's the only word I can think of to describe it. I wish my laptop is ok again. ABANG!!! COME HOME!!!!

Alright, nothing much to say. I hope the DVD transaction goes off okay. I really want this. >_<

Weekend

I was bored of staying at home. So I went to TA this afternoon. My logical reasoning is astounding, is it not?

Didn't really had anything planned to do. The only thing I wanted to do was to find Paramore's new album.

No luck there though. The shop assistant said it'll probably arrive sometime next week? So I'll probably bother looking again next weekend. If I'm not busy.

I ended up with some other stuff though. Which inevitably happens.

A new pair of earphones. Which are blue. I wanted yellow. But they only had blue, green and pink. Blue being cute enough, blue it was. though now i see it clashes with my mp3... hurmm... And Zee Avi's album.

Errr... kinda not my usual style... but her voice is really cute.

The verdict after listening to it some: Just, not my type? But I do like 'First one to die' from the album.

Watched a movie as well. Inglorious Basterds. Yes, I am aware it has been out for ages but it's just now playing over here. So why not? I debated between that one and that "Sumthingorother-With a Chance of Meatballs" movie.

But Brad Pitt wins, hands down.

One of the best parts of watching a movie by yourself is that you don't have to worry about whether they'll have enough seats for your friends so you can sit together. So yeah, I got decent seats (if I hadn't I wouldn't have bothered watching), and watched the movie.

I pretty much liked it though at the beginning I didn't really get where it was all going. Fav scene; at the theater. Really, really cool. And the soundtrack was awesome too.

Bought a new eraser after mine was mutilated a few months back, a new comic and some toothpaste. That's pretty much it.

Oh, and at the CD store, I was actually, quite seriously debating whether I should or not buy a KAT-TUN concert DVD. KAT-TUN's Queen concert DVD. It said in 2008? So it must be recent but since I'm not in The KAT-TUN fandom, I don't know. It costs Rp100,000. Which is, I'd like to think, relatively cheap (because I bought that Arashi 5x5 cd at the same store for Rp90,000). But then, I didn't buy it. Mainly because it wasn't Arashi and I don't need another fandom.

I have some homework to do and it's 95% done? Only need some people to submit somethings to me and draw curvy lines on graph paper. They said you can just do a rough sketch in words but suddenly, my prefectionist A-type self decided to rear up its head and make a scene. So I'll draw it out tomorrow.


On another tangent, if you don't get this, it's fine, but, I'm Sorry.

IT'S AUGUST!!

yes, and people knew that 9 days ago.

But really, there's another reason.

August is when ARASHI releases their compilation album!!!!

Which I bought.

And may get my hands on sometime next month, because that's when I'll be coming back to Indo.

I CANNOT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought the limited edition copy that boasts three CDs of ARASHI's singles from 1999 to 2009. Until Crazy Moon, if I'm not mistaken.

And there's a new song as well, written by ARASHI for the fans. I've already listened to it once. And with my limited understanding of the japanese language, I thought it was cute, and nice, and touching. But I still need to look at translations to see if I understood right. hehehe

August is also when ARASHI goes on tour!! In the five domes and kokuritsu.

I want to go. The ultimate fangirl dream? To me, it seems unattainable. Hahha. The plane ticket to Japan alone exceeds any kind of budget I have.

But I can always dream.. . le sigh.

August is also MATSUJUN'S month!

For my ni-ban. Since most of us will be going home for the holidays, we might not be able to do a celebration like we did for Nino in June (unplanned though it was). Maybe we'll do something later? We'll see...

August is also when I'll be going HOME!!!

...ends my second year here in Indonesia. Well, it actually ended on friday. But..mehhh

Hi, people who read this.

No I did not forget that I actually have a blog. I'm just too f-ing lazy to update anything. haha... pardon me. You probably don't even care. HAH.

Anyway, yeah, finished my last block for my fourth semester in my second year. I may or may have not failed microbiology but I don't give a f-ing hell right now. This may or may not change in due time.

So, what am I doing right now?

waiting for the results to come out for one. But they keep pushing it back. I've already had to change my flight times once and I've not got enough money to change it again. Not that I want to anyway. You can only take so much crap before getting fed up with it.

Speaking of crap, my relationship's been crappy. What kind of relationship? Oh, the usual kind. You know, with people.

I may or may not be anti-social. But that's another story.

I want to go watch a movie. Apparently GI-joe's out. when am i going to see it? Maybe tomorrow. Hmm...see if i have enough strength to haul my butt out the door.

I'm maybe a little emo right now. Can't you tell.

In an attempt to get this in line, let's talk about my fourth semester!!!

What was it like?

Really hectic. We had modules so thick, just looking at it gave you a headache. And modules so thin, that you're worried if you actually have enough information in there.

I was experimented on twice. Though it was of course with consent. (Having no saliva sucks, really).

I made specimens from faeces and urine samples. (the trauma faces were wonderful)

I listened to and learnt all the pathological breath sounds. Which was way interesting.

I had a sort-of kind-of breakdown somewhere in between blocks that may or may have not made people question my sanity. (but they do anyway, so that's ok). I got through that, thanks to my family. I'm sorry for making you guys worry, really.

I fell sick. Really, really sick for the first time ever. And also went to the hospital for a check up for the first time ever (you think that being a doctor's daughter I'd be brought to the hospital at the first sign of a fever, but oddly, no. I know some people who were shocked off this when they found out. Check ups as a baby do not count).

I made a fool of myself countless times. But really, I make a fool out of myself on a weekly, if not daily basis, so, yeah.

I made friends with a lot of people I only knew the faces of.

I drew lots of pseudoartistic crap. Not really. Just wanted to say that. I just mostly draw stuff which may or may not suck.

I had fun. I did not have fun.

In short, I gained experience.

Would I like to repeat it all again?

HECK NO.

I'd like to proceed to my third year please. Hahahahaha...

The shopping trip of doom...

Not exactly...........for my wallet maybe.... but not really....

Being slightly dramatic seems to be in order today. Maybe because of the couldy weather today?



Anyway, remember the shoe shopping trip i mentioned in my previous entry? Well, I bought shoes..............and so many things besides (^_^'A


So, last Saturday, Myself, Aqilah, Afiqah, Wani and Jamie went shopping.

The main point was shoe shopping but in general, we were just going to go shopping.

And............ummmmmmmmmmmmmm...................


I bought wedges.

Little old me, the 'rocker chick' (kononnyelah...padahal...) bought wedges. And not just any wedges... these wedges

Anyway. I bought wedges. Who'd a thunk it eh? I'm planning on wearing em tonite. We're going to watch that X-men movie tonight.

And um....here's to not falling on my face? Eheheh....

What else did I buy? Hmm, two books, three comics and one magazine. An All American Rejects CD. Clothes. Hmm, not that many and there was a sale too....sooo...SCORE!!


Another thing, though those who tire of my fangirling can probably skip this part,

There's a store in CL called "My Idol Shop" and it sells stuff from Korea, Taiwan and Japan. And yeah, knowing me, I was looking for some Arashi CDs. They had one. The last in stock. Arashi's Truth/Kaze no Mukoe e. The Truth version.

Oh yeah, hot emo looking jambu boys. Hahaha


I didn't buy it.


I hear people face-vaulting.


Seriously, even though there was hot emo looking jambu boys on the CD sleeve, I just thought....naaahhh....malaslah. hahaha


But hold it!! That's not the end of the story. I asked the sales person; was it possible to get the newest Arashi cd at this store? Since a new single will be coming out this 27th May? He said...

YES!!

....but they had to put an order in first... hahaha....and it takes around 3 weeks after the release date for it to reach Indonesian shores.


BUT! that's better than nothing right?


So he asked me, if would I like to place an order?


Yeah, I said yes of course. And I placed an order for the limited edition too.


Hahaha....I sense weeks of fasting in the future. I mean come on. It's the limited edition. It won't come cheap. But since I had the chance, why not?

Arashi: Crazy moon-kimi wo muteki/Ashita no kioku single CD limited edition (if they can get it)...you shall be mine!!!!!!!!

Seriously pointless entry but my creativity went out the door and refuses to come home until I sharpen my drawing pencils. So, till next time XD

I was supposed to join a program on Monday and Tuesday. But we were un-invited meaning at first we were invited, then we weren't.... so I malas la nak layan.

I'm gonna pick up some mags and comics as well of course.

My feet are Killing Me. Chapter 2- Grand Indonesia

This is very much long overdue... The theme for the "My feet are Killing Me" series is the places I went during that four (+ one) days holiday that I had last week. But my procrastination prevails and not to mention we also had a BBQ to prepare and by the end of it all, I was too tired to think of what to write.

So, last Saturday, we went here. Grand Indonesia Mall. The mall itself is the same as any other malls but what we wanted to see that day was the two upper levels. Where the aptly named "Crossroads of The World" is placed.


These two floors are decorated and designed to reflect different places of the world, complete with time period attached. There's the Japanese area, the Morrocan area, one sort of European styled but I'm not familiar enough to associate it to what part of Europe exactly, New York sometime in the past (again not familiar enough to associate the correct timeline) and Soho.

What really made me love this place was the attention to detail. Every aspect of the place was decorated to reflect the theme. Even the toilets and the signs!

We actually spent sometime going to the toilets on every floor to gawk.

As for me, being rather enamoured with Japanese culture, of course I loved the Japan theme the most. (^_^)

There is also one more very IMPORTANT thing that happened during my visit to Grand Indonesia but I shall honor it with its own entry. Those who know me well probably can already guess what this leads to.....

My feet are killing me...Chapter 1: Dufan

So, like I said, what to do during this four day holiday???

Well, quite a lot actually.....

Last Friday we (being my housemates and I and Ezzah, Mira, and Bai plus a group of juniors and kak fini, all in all 16 people) went to Dufan, Ancol.
We headed out at around 9.00 a.m and stayed there until the park closed at around 8.00 p.m.

Now that I think about it....LAMANYER!!!!!!!!!

So, what did I ride anyway, remembering my self-imposed ban on thrill rides EVER! thing?

well, they managed to coerce me into riding a swinging ship ride called Koya-koya. Since it didn't spin 360, i thought, well, couldn't be that bad, right? So we went on that after we got of the Ferris Wheel.

I think I left my stomach somewhere over there.

Actually, it was.... ok?? Hahaha.... I surprise myself. Now I actually think it was fun even though I wouldn't have had another go on it at the time.

So after that, to get rid of the funny, my-organs-are-hanging-somewhere-in-the-air-above-me feeling, we went on the Bumper cars next..... *cue evil cackle.*

Soooo my favourite ride! Fiqi rode with me, Wan with Aqi, Bai and Mira and Ezzah on her own. I had so much fun!!! Worst crash was when we hit Ezzah head on. Fiqi has a bruise on her knee from it.

Somehow, this says a lot about my driving...

So after that, we went on a multitude of other rides, including a kiddy roller-coaster, a boat ride into a house of dolls aka "Istana Boneka" and one of those spinning tea-cup things called "Poci-poci". Who would have thought that those teacups could make one soo dizzy. (@_@)

We had to take a break after that one......hahaha.

So many things we did lah, the best...of course the Tornado.

I didn't ride it of course. I was standing happily on solid ground, recording my friends being swung up, spun around and hanged upside down in the air screaming their little heads off...or laughing in some cases....

It was fun just looking at them honestly. I'm living vicariously through them???

We also went on the Log flume, Perang Bintang, Rumah Jahil, Rumah Ajaib and last, Arung Jeram. My second most fun ride of the day. hahaha....

It was a sort of boat thing passing through a series of rapids. It was the last ride we did so we were wet through. We went on it TWICE. Because the consensus was, "We're wet, lets get wetter". Ahahhaa....

After that, since the park was already closing down, we went home.....dripping wet but really, extremely happy.

Honestly, the others went on more rides than I did. The roller-coaster, Ombang-ombang, Pontang-pontang and the swinging thing that I forgot the name.

(incidently,the names are all berganda yek???)

I, on the other hand, wouldn't get on anything high and or spinning. Hahaha...

do i feel left out? Honestly no... it was fun watching the looks of terror on their faces.
